Paper PerFect Formation Analyzer (PPF)

OpTical Surface Roughness  (OpTiSurf)

The PPF quantifies formation into its component values. Individual component values correlate well with paper and board properties such as strength and printability.

Samples are easily compared to selected reference sheets such as a competitor’s paper or the “best” sheet produced on a particular paper machine. The Relative Formation Values are reported for each size component. Features of the PPF include:

  • Specific size components have been correlated with print quality and sheet strength

  • Grades range from tissue to heavy board

  • Optional pattern recognition software (OpTiPro)

  • Optional Watermark Quality Analysis software

OpTest will also exhibit the latest technology for measuring surface roughness. Features of the OpTiSurf include:

  • Optical Roughness Index, ORI (um) correlates with air leak methods

  • Roughness Intensity over a size range from 0.25 mm - 32 mm

  • Measures grades too difficult for air leak methods

  • Continuous profiling capability

  • Rapid and precise measurement

  • Robust design with relatively low maintenance

Visit Booth 519 to see the latest technology and for more information.
